Application Methods

Depending on your end product and production method, specialty patches can be sewn, applied by heat and pressure or even sonic welded. Ask us to use our expertise to help decide which method is best suited to your needs.

Heat Seal

A thin layer of glue that is activated by heat is added to the back of the patch. This is a one step process that can be cost effective and securely holds your brand in place.

Adhesive Backing

This is a pressure sensitive label where a paper backing is removed from a layer of glue and then the patch is pressed onto the product. This is not a permanent application so it is not applicable to all products but can be used as a method of placing the patch in an exact spot before sewing it on.

Sewing Groove

This is either a line or an actual indent in the patch that makes it easier for the machine operator to follow.

Sonic Welding

This method requires special machinery and application molds. Each patch is applied directly to a panel or to the finished garment using high frequency sonic welding.
